Not a good week for soaps, except Y/R (who deserves the high rating).

I think GL would do a lot better if it were in a stronger time slot- it airs at 10 am in some parts of the country and 3pm in ohters, and in some places other times, and it doesn't air at all in some markets. So I can't really take GL's ratings seriously- it's not playing on the same field.

But the others... Oh my. Just terrible. AMC is back down to a 2.4 and it fell as the week went on. Maybe some tuned back in with news of McT's firing and then tuned out when they saw what was airing (Frons's stuff is worse than McT's- McT was dark and chaotic, Frons is fluff and no real content or emotion, as though he thinks soap viewers watch for skin and not for any emotional depth.) AMC's problems began getting serious when Frons took over in 2002... and it's just gone downhill since then with one brief slight spike during McT's first year (when vets were used again and we had some ensemble stuff still).

Are all the other soaps making the same sort of mistakes? Can anyone write anymore? (AMC dialogue alone is said to be awful, with "kewl slang" being used by characters who would never use it, and lines being almost interchangeable).
